Payroll Manager – Workday

The hourly rate for this position is expected to be between $40.00–$48.00 per hour, depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

Position Summary

Eastridge Workforce Solutions is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead day-to-day payroll operations for a large, multi-state organization. This role will oversee payroll processing, reconciliations, compliance, issue resolution, and daily workflow while providing leadership and guidance to the payroll team. Hands-on Workday payroll experience is required.

Essential Functions

• Oversee accurate and timely multi-state payroll processing.
• Manage bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll cycles within Workday.
• Review payroll calculations, reconciliations, adjustments, and final payroll results.
• Lead and support Payroll Specialists in daily activities and deadlines.
• Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee payroll issues.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
• Maintain accurate payroll records and audit-ready documentation.
• Review payroll processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Partner with HR, Finance, and other departments on payroll-related matters.
• Provide operational payroll leadership and coverage when needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive payroll experience; leadership experience strongly preferred.
• Hands-on Workday payroll experience required.
• Strong multi-state payroll experience.
• Experience managing high-volume payroll operations.
• Strong knowledge of payroll taxes, wage and hour requirements, deductions, garnishments, and compliance.
• Experience with payroll reconciliations, audits, and reporting.
• Strong Excel and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet strict payroll deadlines.
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
